Defeating the challenge mode grants the greatest number of points that can be spent in the options menu, allowing for a wider variety of character combinations for teams. This game is a pretty fun fighting game at least for the Gameboy. It's kind of hard to make a fighting game when you only have 4 button inputs but they manage make it feel good for the most part. However in later fights it kind of just devolves into spamming super attacks due to the fact that the actual fighting is just button mashing and spam blocking. The visuals are pretty nice as well, probably as close as you could have gotten the the anime on a Gameboy.

And where the game really shines is its story which does have a abridged sort of rea telling of the series. But more interestingly there's also what if stories for every playable character in the game. Which is something I really wish more DBZ games would do as some of these what if stories are actually kind of cool.
